OnThisDay (2003): Star Trek Deep Space Nine Danube-class runabout "Rubicon"!

Runabouts are kinda like the workhorses of Deep Space Nine: much larger and faster than regular shuttlecrafts, they are basically miniature starships that can be used to carry cargo and personnel on much longer away missions.

Although there are several different runabouts stationed at Deep Space Nine, I gave my paper version the name and markings of the NCC-72936 U.S.S. "Rubicon", after the runabout that got shrunk to only about 11 centimeters (about 4 inches) long by a rare subspace anomaly in the season 6 episode "One Little Ship".

But the paper version is bigger than that, though: measuring about 42 cm (16.5 inches) long, my papercraft runabout "Rubicon" is actually one of the biggest paper models I made so far!

The "Rubicon" runabout is one of those hand drawn Star Trek papercraft models of mine that has been digitally revamped by Paragon and Paul McCool.

Have fun building!
